Job summary

PennState seeks a Sustainability Storytelling and News Intern to join the communications team. You will craft engaging written content highlighting Penn State’s sustainability achievements for a broad audience, mostly remotely, with some in-person events.

You will write articles, curate blogs, conduct interviews, edit newsletters, and help develop materials while meeting deadlines and delivering high-quality work.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to write and edit clear, engaging content.
• Experience interviewing researchers or leaders is a plus.
• Strong time-management and ability to meet deadlines.
• Reliable, flexible, and well-organized in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Write articles for PennState News and related platforms.
• Create and curate Our Nature blog posts.
• Conduct interviews for SDG Snapshots and other features.
• Compile and edit the Mainstream newsletter.
• Pitch and prioritize writing assignments and candidates.
