Job summary

The Pennsylvania State University, through the Office of Entrepreneurship, invites applications for a student worker to support social media for Invent Penn State. You will help create, schedule and manage content highlighting entrepreneurship, programs, events and success stories across the Invent Penn State ecosystem.

This part-time, in-person role at the Eric J. Barron Innovation Hub in State College offers hands-on experience in marketing, storytelling and digital content.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled as Penn State undergraduate or graduate student.
• Strong written communication and attention to detail.
• Familiar with major social media platforms and audience differences.
• Creative mindset and interest in storytelling and digital content.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Create, adapt and schedule engaging social media content across Invent Penn State channels.
• Write audience-focused copy in line with brand voice.
• Identify content opportunities related to entrepreneurship and programs.
• Maintain social media content calendar and coordinate posts around events.
• Monitor channels and escalate questions as appropriate.
• Capture photos and short-form video at events.
• Assist with basic photo/video editing and graphics creation.
• Research trends and recommend opportunities to boost engagement.
• Review performance data to identify high-performing content.
• Collaborate with Marketing team and partners to gather stories.
• Assist with other digital marketing projects.
