Job summary

The CORE Institute is seeking a Surgical Authorization Specialist for a remote position. You will monitor upcoming surgical cases, verify insurance eligibility, and document authorizations to ensure timely processing of claims.

Strong communication with physicians, patients, and staff is essential. Ideal candidates have at least 2 years in healthcare, experience with referrals/authorizations, and excellent organizational and data entry skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in the healthcare field.
• Experience with referrals/authorizations, front office, and/or charge posting preferred.
• Excellent organizational and data entry skills; strong computer background.

Responsibilities

• Monitor authorizations for upcoming surgical cases to ensure timely and accurate approvals.
• Verify patient demographics and insurance eligibility, including coordination of benefits.
• Complete surgical cost analysis forms and document required estimates prior to services.
• Verify benefits on all surgical procedures and document progress in the chart.
• Communicate effectively with physicians, patients, and colleagues and maintain good working relationships.
• Participate in staff training on new processes to ensure timely case confirmations.
• Assist schedulers with STAT authorizations and respond to complaints professionally.
• Maintain HIPAA confidentiality and identify workflow improvement opportunities.
