Job summary

TriCore Inc. is seeking a Support Engineer to provide remote technical assistance for production, cleaning, data collection, and reporting systems.

You will troubleshoot issues, apply procedures, implement PLC- and HMI-based changes, and document resolutions. A BS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience is required, with 0–5 years’ exposure and strong communication skills. Night shifts (7 PM–7 AM CT) and occasional travel (<5%) are involved.

Qualifications

• BS EE or equivalent experience in engineering or automation environments.
• 0–5 years of experience with ability to develop technical proficiency over time.
• Foundational knowledge in electrical design, PLC ladder logic, HMI configuration, programming, and troubleshooting.
• Proficient with Windows OS and Office tools for communication and documentation.
• Strong verbal and written communication to customers and internal teams.
• Willingness to work 12-hour night shifts (7:00pm–7:00am CT) and rotating weekends.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot customer-reported issues by reviewing system information and determining next steps.
• Apply TriCore standards and best practices to develop support solutions.
• Communicate clearly with customers and internal teams throughout the process.
• Gather information, set expectations, and provide timely updates on issue status.
• Document steps, findings, communications, changes, and resolutions.
• Program, configure, test, and implement PLC- and HMI-based changes.
• Follow change-control processes for technical solutions.
• Develop proficiency across TriCore’s automation technologies and environments.
• Prioritize cases and escalate when necessary based on safety, impact, or complexity.
• Follow all safety, conduct, and site requirements and take ownership to resolution.
