Job summary

Raytheon-Rafael Area Protection Systems (R2S) seeks a proven Supplier Quality Engineer to lead quality assurance activities with customers and suppliers in a cross-functional team. The role supports ongoing production and supplier development to sustain current contracts and establish second sources.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Engineering or related STEM field with 5+ years in quality engineering, strong communication skills, and the ability to obtain a U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related STEM; 5+ years in Quality Engineering or Quality Systems, or combination of education and experience.
• Experience presenting to and communicating in cross-functional teams.
• 2+ years reading and understanding blueprints, material specs, etc.
• Knowledge of AS9100 and ISO 9001 standards.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance; U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure flow down of product requirements to internal and sub-tier suppliers via PO requirements, Quality Notes, and SOW.
• Interpret requirements and apply Quality Notes to procured parts.
• Review Supplier Change Requests, Statements of Work and internal TDP changes.
• Perform on-site Source Surveillance.
• Track supplier responses to CARs, evaluate, provide feedback, and ensure 8D closure.
• Participate in root cause analysis on failures, supplier assessments, and evaluating new suppliers.
• Prepare and authorize the Acceptance Data Package (ADP) for customer deliveries.
• Develop KPIs and metrics to measure supplier quality performance.
• Participate in process change reviews and qualification tests.
• Perform special process audits (Weld, NDT, Paint).
• Facilitate Program/Supplier reviews and Technical Interchange Meetings.
• Conduct supplier factory process walks and risk assessments.
• Represent Quality on cross-functional teams in proposals and program processes.
• Advocate for customers when quality problems are detected.
• Review and approve supplier deviation requests.
• Assist in investigations/resolutions of quality-related problems.
• Conduct or support Supplier First Article Inspections (FAI).
