Job summary

South Texas College is seeking a Supplemental Instruction Leader to provide academic learning support, conduct tutoring sessions, and assist with daily operations of the Centers for Learning Excellence.

You will work in varied instructional settings, lead study sessions, and collaborate with instructors to promote student success while maintaining accurate records and preparing lesson materials.

Qualifications

• Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication.
• MS Office proficiency (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks with deadlines.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Provides educational assistance to students in specific disciplines to improve mastery.
• Assists in preparing workshops and materials to aid comprehension.
• Attends classes or study sessions for enrolled students, onsite or online.
• Guides students in various settings, offering feedback and hands-on practice.
• Integrates study strategies with course content.
• Leads in-class discussions and activities as directed.
• Maintains relationships with instructors, students, and supervisors.
• Keeps records and lesson plans using required software and forms.
• Promotes information about academic support services offered.
• Acts as liaison with faculty and staff to support student success.
• Participates in departmental training and meetings.
• Has access to a remote working site with reliable internet as required.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
