Job summary

South Texas College seeks a dedicated Supplemental Instruction Leader to provide tutoring in classrooms and skill labs and support daily operations of the Centers for Learning Excellence.

You will attend classes, lead study sessions, prepare materials, and promote academic support services. Strong communication, teamwork, and computer skills are essential to help diverse student populations succeed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; college certificate or 30 college hours preferred.
• Demonstrated mastery of coursework in subject with good grade, preferably A.
• Excellent oral, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provides educational assistance to students in specific discipline to improve understanding.
• Assists in preparation of workshops and materials to enhance comprehension.
• Attends classes and study sessions onsite or online as assigned.
• Leads in-class small group discussions and activities as directed by instructor.
• Keeps records and lesson plans and submits paperwork timely.
• Promotes and presents information about academic support services.
• Serves as liaison with faculty and staff to support student success.
