South Texas College is seeking a Supplemental Instruction Leader to provide academic learning support, tutor students in classrooms and skill labs, and assist with daily operations of the Centers for Learning Excellence.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED (college hours preferred) and strong communication, computer, and organizational skills. Remote work is available with onsite activities as assigned, with emphasis on student success and collaboration with faculty.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; college certificate or 30 college hours preferred.
• Demonstrated mastery of sufficient coursework in subject, earning at least a grade of B required, preferably an A.

Responsabilités

• Provides educational assistance to students to improve comprehension and mastery of the subject.
• Assists in preparation of workshops and materials to enhance student comprehension and supplement course assignments.
• Attends classes and/or holds study sessions for currently enrolled students onsite or online as assigned.
• Guides students in diverse instructional settings by providing feedback and answering questions using hands-on practice.
• Integrates study strategy techniques with course content.
• Attends lectures and functions as a model student in the programmatic framework.
• Leads in-class small group discussions, demonstrations, or activities as directed by instructor.
• Develops and maintains working relationships with instructors and student participants.
