Job summary

Supabase is hiring a JS SDK Engineer to own a core part of how developers interact with the platform using JavaScript and TypeScript. You will build and evolve our JS/TS SDKs, work in public repos, and shape the type experience to ensure smooth autocomplete and inference across projects.

This remote, high-autonomy role values async collaboration, strong TypeScript skills, and the ability to ship features with robust tests and documentation.

Qualifications

• Expert-level TypeScript with generics, conditional and mapped types.
• Experience maintaining a published library with public API.
• NPM packaging fluency: dual ESM/CJS, export maps, type resolution.

Responsibilities

• Build and evolve all JS/TS SDKs for the Supabase platform.
• Start new features and justify missing capabilities.
• Work in the open with public repos, triage issues, and review contributions.
• Own the type experience to keep autocomplete correct across codebases.
• Support multiple runtimes: Node, Deno, Bun, browsers, Cloudflare Workers, React Native.
• Develop realtime features including WebSocket handling and presence semantics.
• Document changes with RFCs, migration guides, and release notes.
• Make SDKs understandable to AI coding agents.
