Job summary

Orbital Engineering, Inc. seeks an Engineering Supervisor for Protection & Controls to lead a remote team in the design, development, installation, and maintenance of electrical substations across the US. You will drive P&C design packages, coordinate with project managers, and ensure high-quality, compliant deliverables.

The role requires minimum 4 years in substation design; PE license is preferred. This exempt, full-time position offers a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years in electrical substation design.
• PE license highly preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to organize multiple P&C design assignments with competing priorities.
• Experience managing design projects including budgeting, scheduling and risk management.
• Ability to collaborate in cross-functional work teams.
• Demonstrated analytical and decision-making skills with clients.

Responsibilities

• Lead a small team of designers in substation design, development, installation, and maintenance.
• Manage execution of P&C design projects, including resource planning and risk management.
• Conduct performance evaluations and career development for designers.
• Prepare or oversee cost estimates and project schedules.
• Allocate reports to meet project demands and ensure on-time delivery.
• Provide technical leadership and troubleshooting support.
