Job summary

Amped I LLC is seeking a Substation Protection & Controls Engineer to join our team as a mid-level, full-time, permanent position. This role is fully remote, with work from home Monday–Friday, collaborating with electrical engineers to design protection and control systems for substations and support long-term career goals as a Licensed Professional Engineer on the transmission side.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of a substation project lifecycle at the utility level.
• Excellent technical communication and detail‑oriented work practices.

Responsibilities

• Create/modify design documents and drawings for substations (one‑lines, three‑lines, schematics, relay panels).
• Develop SCADA interfaces and relay coordination studies.
• Coordinate project activities with PMs, clients, engineers and drafters.
• Support site walk-downs and preparation of cost estimates for substation projects.
