Job summary

ABB is seeking a Protection & Control Engineering leader to drive engineering activities for substation projects. You will steer design, analysis, and documentation, ensuring cost-effective, compliant solutions while coordinating with multidisciplinary teams.

The role can be fully remote with preference for candidates in Northern California; requires a California PE license and ongoing US work eligibility. 5+ years of P&C experience and familiarity with ETAP, SKM, EasyPower, Aspen, and EMTP are

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering is required; Master's degree preferred.
5+ years of protection & control experience on utility projects.
Ability to interpret electrical one-lines, schematics, and manuals.
PE license in California; US work authorization required.

Responsibilities

Lead and support design activities for protection & control systems in substations.
Develop documents and analyses (schematics, layouts, BOMs, calculations).
Manage materials, design packages, and issue resolution with teams and customers.
Ensure safety, standards compliance, and cross-disciplinary collaboration.
