Job summary

GFT in Marlton, NJ is seeking experienced Substation Engineers (Electrical Engineers) to join our Power Group. You will lead or support utility and power substation projects, delivering layouts, one-lines, and specifications for 34.5kV up to 500kV.

Hybrid work is available; for the right candidate a remote option may be considered. The role emphasizes client relationships, project management, and delivering high‑quality power delivery solutions across regional and national projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
• Professional Engineer license or pursuing licensure is required.
• 4+ years in design, engineering and project management within power/utility.
• Experience in consulting engineering preferred.
• Proficient with project management software (MS Project or similar).
• Design experience in high voltage substation and distribution projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop substation layout drawings: plan/elevations, grounding, raceway, control buildings, cable lists.
• Develop substation single-line and three-line diagrams, power systems, SCADA/communications, relay layouts.
• Prepare calculations and reports for clients.
• Prepare equipment specifications for substation equipment and construction.
• Collaborate to pursue regionally and nationally power substation projects.
• Develop and nurture client relationships across disciplines.
• Assist in proposals, bids, reports and presentations.
