Job summary

GFT is seeking an experienced Substation Engineer (Electrical) to join its Power Group. The role offers a hybrid setup in select locations, with remote work possible for the right candidate.

You will lead or support substation projects from 34.5kV up to 500kV, building strong client relationships while delivering engineering and design solutions across transmission and distribution systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Professional Engineer License or on the path to licensure.
• 4+ years progressive experience in design, engineering and project management within power and utility industry.
• High voltage substation design experience.
• Experience delivering quality technical solutions for major power delivery projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop substation layout drawings including plan/elevations, yard layouts, grounding, raceway details, control building layouts, cable lists, and material lists.
• Develop substation one lines, three lines, Aux AC/DC power systems, DC power, SCADA/Communications, Relay Panel layouts, wiring, and cable schedules.
• Prepare calculations and reports and present to clients.
• Prepare equipment specifications for substation equipment, components, and construction.
• Collaborate to pursue power substation projects regionally and nationally to grow Gannett Fleming presence.
• Develop and nurture client relationships across multiple disciplines.
• Participate in proposals, bids, reports and presentations.
