Job summary

Humana Inc. is seeking a Subrogation Professional 2 to investigate accident and claim events and determine Humana’s potential recovery. The role involves gathering details from members, providers, adjusters, and attorneys, reviewing payments, and negotiating liens.

You will report to a Supervisor and work remotely with occasional travel to Humana offices for training or meetings. Strong communication and multitasking are essential.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of subrogation claims handling experience in healthcare, property and casualty, or worker's compensation insurance.
• 2+ years phone customer service experience dealing with escalated situations involving attorneys, providers, and/or members.
• Microsoft Office proficiency — ability to create forms, reports, and documents in Word and Excel.
• Experience multitasking within several computer systems throughout the day.
• Basic proficiency with computers, email, phone systems, and data entry.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Review subrogation or other party liability for applicable recovery rights.
• Contact members, providers, adjusters, attorneys, and other parties to gather claim details by phone or email.
• Investigate facts of accidents or claims, including what happened, dates, locations, and at-fault parties.
• Identify liable parties and provide notice of Humana’s potential recovery interest.
• Create, update, and maintain liens based on eligible paid claims and communicate with attorneys or adjusters.
• Negotiate lien repayment amounts and document all actions in systems.
• Balance high-volume workload while meeting productivity and recovery expectations.
