Job summary

Humana is seeking a Subrogation Professional 2 to investigate accident and claim events to determine whether subrogation may apply. You will gather details from members, providers, adjusters, and attorneys, review payments, and create or update liens as appropriate.

You will work remotely, with occasional travel to Humana offices for training or meetings. Strong communication and MS Office skills, plus 2+ years in subrogation, are required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of subrogation claims handling experience in healthcare or related fields.
• 2+ years of phone-based customer service dealing with attorneys, providers, or members.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel to create forms and reports.
• Ability to multitask across several computer systems daily.
• Basic computer, email, and data entry competence.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Review new accident, injury, or claim events to assess subrogation applicability.
• Contact involved parties by phone or email to gather claim details.
• Investigate facts: what happened, date, location, fault, and parties.
• Review payment information and create or maintain liens as needed.
• Negotiate lien repayment amounts with attorneys or other parties.
• Document conversations and actions in the appropriate systems.
