Job summary

IMEG Corporation seeks a Structural Engineer Inspector for a remote-based role with travel to project sites for visual observations and inspections. You’ll work with contractors, engineers, and project teams to verify that structural work complies with codes, specifications, and design intent.

This position focuses on field observations, inspection support, and reporting, with opportunities across diverse projects.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or certificate in Engineering, or equivalent (preferred).
• 1 year experience preferred; no experience acceptable.
• Desire to obtain ICC/structural inspection certifications preferred.
• Ability to read construction documents including drawings, specs, shop drawings.
• Strong self-management to schedule across projects.
• Excellent teamwork, communication, and adaptability.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.
• Willingness to travel up to 10% with possible overnight stays.

Responsibilities

• Perform field observations and inspections of structural elements of buildings and other structures
• Serve as an International Building Code defined Special Inspector on applicable projects
• Prepare well-written, organized inspection reports
• Assist project design teams as required by the project
• Interpret and evaluate field conditions and laboratory reports
• Conduct job site visits and photograph relevant field conditions for report documentation
• Document observations and collaboration with the SEoR to support remedial action
• Review shop drawings and provide markups to the SEoR for review and approval
• Assist with RFIs, interpretation of test results, and contractor change orders
