Job summary

Middough Inc. is seeking a Structural Field Inspector to serve as the company’s field representative, documenting existing conditions for engineered repair plans at client locations.

The role may also involve monitoring repairs or installations based on inspection findings. You will deploy to field sites to identify deficiencies, coordinate with engineering for remediation actions, prepare daily and final reports, and depict findings with sketches and site drawings.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or a related technical field preferred; High School diploma required with relevant experience
• 1-3 years of experience in structural or mechanical inspection, asset integrity, or similar technical field
• Basic knowledge of AutoCAD
• Hands-on experience with nondestructive testing (NDT) methods such as VT, UT, MT, or PT is a plus
• Familiar with construction materials, methods, and processes
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention to detail abilities
• Ability to multitask and organize for project efficiency
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Deploy to field locations to identify and detect deficiencies in structural systems and recommend remediation actions
• Coordinate with engineering for complex deficiencies and recommended actions
• Rely on past experiences to determine state of a structural element
• Prepare daily and final reports based on on-site inspections
• Utilize sketches and drawings to depict inspection findings and recommendations for repair
• Read site drawings and adjust plans based on inspection results
• Keep current with developments in inspection standards, codes, and procedures
• Provide technical support in resolving inspection-method-related problems
• Adhere to safety policies in a heavy industrial setting
