Job summary

Duke Health is seeking a Strategic Services Associate within the Patient Revenue Management Organization to support pre-service verification of insurance eligibility, prior authorization, and medical necessity across inpatient and outpatient services.

You will partner with service lines, clinic leadership, providers, and revenue teams to standardize processes, drive performance improvements, and implement sustainable workflows using technology and data analysis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business or health-related field required.
• Minimum 5 years work experience, including 3 years in performance/process improvement.
• Experience leading work teams required.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to work with diverse stakeholders.
• Knowledge of revenue cycle operations; data analysis; attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement strategies for performance improvement and reducing denials.
• Evaluate workflows and identify improvements using technology or automation.
• Implement and maintain department technology solutions.
• Develop policy/procedure and training documentation.
• Establish department performance targets and act as SME for eligibility, authorization, and medical necessity.
• Collaborate with service lines and revenue cycle departments to align processes.
• Manage interdisciplinary projects and ensure training and documentation are provided.
