Job summary

CannonDesign is seeking a Pursuit Strategist to work with firm leaders to influence strategy and drive success. You will lead strategy sessions, craft persuasive narratives, and coordinate with the BMBD team and designers to shape pursuit outcomes.

The role emphasizes transforming raw information into meaningful insights, collaborating with Opportunity Leaders, and coaching Marketing Specialists to portray differentiated value across multiple markets. Travel up to 25% is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, communications or a related field required.
• Minimum of 8 years of related work experience required; 10+ preferred.
• Experience influencing strategy and content for a professional services firm.
• Architecture/Engineering/Construction industry experience preferred.
• Strong proficiency with InDesign, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategy development for our firm's most significant and complex project pursuits.
• Develop an overall action plan with decision-maker profiles, competitor analysis, SWOT and market research.
• Create client-specific win plans and go/no go strategy reviews.
• Facilitate strategy sessions/workshops to shape pursuit strategy.
• Support readability and messaging of pursuit-related materials.
• Collaborate with leaders to plan strategy sessions and allocate resources.
• Develop differentiators, value propositions and key messages for pursuits.
• Ensure messaging translates into compelling narratives with visual storytelling.
• Coach marketing specialists in proposal strategy and storytelling.
• Participate in win/loss debriefs and share lessons learned.
• Mentor Marketing Specialists across the region.
