Job summary

Jobgether is seeking a Software Engineer - Storage in the United States to help build and scale a high-performance object storage platform. You will work across the stack, from client libraries and CLI tools to storage servers, APIs, and deployment infrastructure.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend engineering experience, including operating Node.js apps in production.
• Experience designing, building, or operating highly scalable distributed systems.
• Comfort across the tech stack, incl backend development, infra deployment, monitoring and scaling.
• Familiarity with observability tools such as OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana.
• Experience with performance tuning, production troubleshooting, and reliability of distributed services.
• Strong PostgreSQL production experience including tuning and troubleshooting.
• Ownership mindset with ability to drive projects independently from definition to delivery.
• Appreciation for developer experience and building reliable tools for developers.
• Ability to collaborate effectively in a fast-paced, asynchronous, globally distributed team.

Responsibilities

• Enhance storage capabilities and analytics storage, support open formats.
• Optimize asset delivery for faster website and app performance.
• Expand edge infrastructure to accelerate uploads and cache invalidation.
• Improve storage server performance via monitoring and optimization.
• Develop storage exploration tools with frontend collaboration.
• Improve APIs, client libraries, and CLI tools for a seamless workflow.
• Strengthen upload/download reliability across clients and environments.
• Contribute to open-source storage server components and upstream fixes.
• Resolve escalated issues and implement systemic improvements.
• Contribute across backend, deployment, monitoring, and operations.
• Drive projects end-to-end from problem definition to deployment.
