Job summary

Remote is seeking a Software Engineer – Storage to help build a high-performance object storage platform and scale it for developers worldwide. You will work across client libraries, storage servers, CDNs, and deployment infrastructure in a globally distributed, open-source-first environment.

You will tackle distributed systems challenges, optimize uploads, and contribute to open-source projects while shaping developer workflows with improved APIs, tooling, and observability.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend engineering experience.
• Experience designing, building, or operating highly scalable distributed systems.
• Comfort working across the technology stack including deployment, monitoring, and scaling.
• Familiarity with observability/monitoring tools like OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana.
• Experience with PostgreSQL production, including tuning and troubleshooting.
• Demonstrated ownership mindset to drive projects end-to-end.

Responsibilities

• Enhance storage capabilities and support open file formats to enable efficient data management.
• Optimize asset delivery for faster web/mobile experiences.
• Expand edge infrastructure and implement cache invalidation features.
• Improve storage server performance, observability, and reliability.
• Develop storage exploration tools with frontend collaboration.
• Improve developer experience through APIs, libraries, and CLI tooling.
• Strengthen upload/download reliability across clients and environments.
• Contribute to open-source storage components and upstream dependencies.
• Resolve escalated issues and implement systemic improvements.
