Job summary

Kaplan University Partners seeks part-time STEM mentors to support online programs for precollege students. Mentors engage and guide students throughout the course using Canvas inbox and digital tools. As part of training, mentors complete paid modules and collaborate with KUP staff.

Qualifications

• Applicants preferred have knowledge or experience in STEM.
• Authorization to work in the United States.
• Pass background check.
• Experience working with adolescents aged 13–17.
• Ability to work in a remote, self-directed environment.
• Familiar with Canvas, email, Zoom or Google Hangouts.

Responsibilities

• Provide async guidance, feedback and answer questions.
• Review course assignments, provide direction and answer questions.
• Answer ad hoc questions throughout the course session.
• Brainstorm and ideate with students on final project ideas.
• Be familiar with all course material.
• Check-in with the program staff at specified periods.
• Report back on student engagement as requested.
