Job summary

GoTo’s Accounting & Finance team is seeking a State Tax Senior Analyst for a remote, part-time role (~24 hours/week). You’ll handle state tax returns, reviews, notices, and licensing filings, supporting accurate tax provisions and audit-ready documentation.

You’ll collaborate with internal teams, develop tax research, and stay current on SALT matters, including telecom taxation and sales/use tax, in a dynamic cloud communications environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Experience preparing state and local tax returns and supporting recurring tax compliance processes.
• Experience responding to state tax notices with organized supporting documentation and workpapers.
• Strong Excel skills and attention to detail; ability to manage responsibilities independently.
• Working knowledge of SALT fundamentals with ability to research and communicate tax conclusions clearly.
• Experience with sales/use tax, tax provision support, Avalara, AvaTax, NetSuite, telecommunications tax, or public accounting environments.

Responsibilities

• Prepare recurring state tax compliance processes and returns.
• Support quarterly tax provision and maintain audit-ready documentation.
• Respond to state tax notices and gather supporting documentation.
• Support operational tax processes including license filings and annual reports.
• Conduct tax research and summarize findings; learn telecommunications taxes through training.
