Job summary

State-of-Delawar in Dover, Delaware oversees statewide accounting and internal control engagements. The role involves planning and analyzing financial reports for compliance with GAAP and state regulations, supervising staff, and providing financial guidance to agencies.

The incumbent works with other state agencies to deliver recommendations and support financial management, including vendor interactions with engaged CPA firms and guidance on internal controls.

Qualifications

• Two years' experience in planning, directing, staffing, monitoring, and evaluating financial studies or projects.
• Three years' experience in conducting statistical analysis, internal control reviews, or preparing financial statements.
• Three years' experience in developing and evaluating internal controls or other accounting policies or procedures.
• One year of financial management experience including developing, implementing, supervising, evaluating, and overseeing financial operations.
• One year of strategic planning including goals, objectives and priorities.

Responsibilities

• Provides guidance, direction, and recommendations to state agencies in the fiscal oversight function.
• Reviews, analyzes, reconciles, and approves financial transactions and reports.
• Ensures compliance with state and federal laws, rules, regulations, and internal controls.
• Conducts data analysis and troubleshoots discrepancies or process flaws.
• Delivers excellent customer service to internal and external customers and the public.
