Job summary

The Delaware Department of Finance seeks a Director for the Division of Accounting to provide statewide leadership, direction and management of accounting, payroll compliance, internal control and financial reporting for all state organizations including school districts and higher education.

The role ensures timely, accurate financial information including the ACFR, leads payroll compliance statewide, and directs the ERP system and modernization initiatives in collaboration with the OneDelaware

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance or Accounting or related field.
Five years experience in financial reporting, general ledger, accounts receivable and accounts payable.
Three years experience managing accounting operations.

Responsibilities

Provide leadership for financial management activities throughout state government.
Establish and implement policies, procedures and regulations pertaining to statewide accounting and payroll systems.
Lead ACFR preparation to ensure a clean audit and GFOA award.
Manage statewide payroll compliance with state and IRS regulations.
Oversee the State's Financial Accounting ERP system and related projects.
