Job summary

CAI, a global services firm, is seeking a Director, Business Development – State Government to drive growth with state agencies, higher education, and related public sector clients. You will shape strategy, pursue opportunities, and lead capture efforts from market analysis through proposal leadership.

Reporting to the VP of Public Sector, you will manage pre-sales outreach, craft compelling proposals, and align CAI offerings with market demand.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in State Government professional services, business development, capture, and proposals.
• Strong knowledge of NASPO, Sourcewell, RFx cycles, and contract negotiation.
• Proven ability to manage multi-year sales cycles and cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead growth strategy across CAI’s State Government portfolio.
• Develop agency targets and build State Government pipeline.
• Direct RFP responses and pricing strategy end-to-end.
• Coordinate with SMEs and cross-functional teams during bids.
