Ladders is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join a leading Healthcare technology team. You will help shape the technical direction for member- and care team-facing digital experiences that support healthcare delivery, partnering with product and clinical stakeholders to translate vision into practical, shippable solutions.

With over 10 years of coding experience, you will guide architecture across the stack, set quality and security standards, mentor engineers, and drive 6–12 month technical

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience writing readable, tested, and efficient code.
• Strong in at least one modern backend language, with flexibility across the stack.
• Experience with Ruby on Rails.
• Familiarity with relational databases like PostgreSQL or MySQL.
• Proven experience in designing scalable, maintainable, and secure APIs.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred) and deployment tools (Kubernetes, Docker).
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Partner with product and clinical teams to turn vision into shipped product.
• Own architecture and technical direction for new member- and care team-facing experiences.
• Apply technical judgment across languages and frameworks to guide delivery.
• Set the quality bar for clean, well-tested, scalable code.
• Mentor engineers and remove ambiguity to ship quickly.
• Identify high-value work and set 6-12 month technical direction.
