Job summary

TRM Labs Inc. is hiring a Staff/ Senior-style Engineer to join our US Remote team. You will build a robust agentic framework and scale our AI-powered platforms that help public and private sector investigators disrupt illicit activity.

You will work with Python, LLMs, LangChain, and vector databases to create safe, scalable, and observable systems used by analysts across the globe. This role emphasizes ownership, rapid experimentation, and measurable impact.

Qualifications

• Strong engineering background with backend/systems focus.
• Experience with Python is preferred.
• Hands-on work with LLMs, agents, and tooling frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Architect and implement a robust agentic framework supporting tool use, context retrieval, memory, and planning.
• Build intelligent, modular agents to automate investigative tasks and support analyst decisions.
• Scale LLM infrastructure including prompt engineering, RAG, and evaluation loops.
• Design safe, observable agent behaviors with reliability in high-sensitivity environments.
• Evaluate performance using metrics and iterate based on feedback and telemetry.
