Job summary

TRM Labs is building a safer world through AI-powered intelligence platforms used by public and private sector investigators. The AI Engineering Team focuses on next-generation AI applications, supporting LLMs, agentic systems, and scalable infrastructure to deploy AI safely and quickly.

The team values ownership, rapid experimentation, and ethical AI deployment, while delivering high performance pipelines and observability across petabyte-scale data.

Qualifications

• Strong engineering background with backend or systems focus, Python preferred.
• Hands-on experience building with LLMs and agents and tooling frameworks.
• Thoughtful system design with safety, scalability, and explainability in mind.

Responsibilities

• Architect and implement a robust agentic framework enabling tool use, context retrieval, memory and planning.
• Build intelligent, modular agents that automate investigative tasks and support analysts.
• Scale LLM infrastructure including prompt engineering, RAG and evaluation loops.
• Design safe, observable agent behaviors with strong reliability in sensitive environments.
• Evaluate performance metrics and iterate based on user feedback and telemetry.
