Job summary

TRM Labs is seeking a senior engineer to help build AI-powered intelligence platforms for public and private sector use. You will embed with intel analysts, design scalable systems, and ship durable, high-impact products that advance TRM's mission.

You will work hands-on across back-end services, APIs, data storage, and agentic workflows, ensuring the solutions you build scale with the team’s needs and are easy to operate and maintain.

Qualifications

• 6+ years full-stack software engineering experience building scalable web applications, services, and APIs.
• Strong product sense and ability to ship high-impact, scalable solutions.
• Proficiency in Python and/or JavaScript/TypeScript, with strong back-end skills.
• Experience with databases and APIs (Postgres/pgvector, Pinecone, Redis).
• Hands-on experience with AI tools/models and AI-enabled workflows.
• High ownership, initiative, and ability to operate independently in ambiguity.
• Strong communication and ability to explain trade-offs to semi-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Embed with intel analysts to understand goals and translate into technical solutions with clear success criteria.
• Identify high-leverage opportunities to improve intelligence collection and productize work for durability.
• Design, build, and own AI-powered internal apps end-to-end: back-end services, APIs, storage, and UIs.
• Develop agentic solutions using state-of-the-art models (OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini).
• Own projects end-to-end: architecture, scoping, delivery, iteration, support.
• Build reliable, scalable systems that analysts depend on daily.
• Continuously evaluate impact and iterate based on outcomes for the Intel team.
