Job summary

Groups Recover Together seeks a Staff Provider to join a small team of experienced providers, counselors, and support staff. You will facilitate rapid-access intakes and enhanced medical support, with extensive telemedicine across Virginia and West Virginia, and a member‑first approach focused on safety and engagement.

Responsibilities include intake duties, initiating MAT with buprenorphine/naloxone, collaborating with community providers, and guiding patients into regular maintenance groups.

Qualifications

• Physician, Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with active state license in good standing.
• Willing to become licensed in multiple states Groups operates in.
• Willingness to credential with government and private health plans in network.
• Ability to see member in-person at several state locations.
• At least 1 year of experience managing OUD with buprenorphine.
• Experience in a team-based care setting with behavioral health providers.
• At least 2 years experience with a similar member population (primary care or behavioral health).
• Adequate internet connectivity to support telemedicine.
• Reliable internet and telephone services (10M/5M) and strong remote work WiFi.
• Ability to demonstrate recovery-sensitive behaviors and professional communication.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to clinical policies and procedures as outlined in the GRS Manual.
• Intake medical duties.
• Prescribe buprenorphine/naloxone for treatment and, where appropriate, other approved meds for withdrawal.
• Maintain a regular schedule of intake shifts and provide rapid-access telemedicine intakes.
• Initiate MAT during the early weeks of treatment (weeks 1–4).
• Coordinate with community providers for transitions.
• Collaborate with colleagues to transition care into maintenance groups.
• Escalate controversial situations to medical leadership.
• Maintain a panel of maintenance members and meet monthly in provider groups.
• Meet with patients on buprenorphine every 30 days, including telemedicine where compliant.
• Provide telemedicine support between monthly visits via phone/email.
• Post-visit individual sessions when needed, including telemedicine.
