IBM Software is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to lead the Secure Compute Platform, delivering a multi-tenant, cloud-native compute substrate across AWS, Azure, and GCP. You will architect security models, drive platform APIs, and guide teams to build scalable, reliable workloads.

Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
10 years of backend/platform software experience in production environments.
Experience building large-scale distributed systems with high availability.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to thrive in fast-paced settings.

Responsibilities

Define and drive technical direction for Secure Compute platform architecture and security models.
Design and implement Kubernetes-based APIs and controllers for workload management and isolation.
Collaborate with Product and Platform teams to shape the roadmap and deliver features.
Lead high-impact initiatives in scheduling, networking, deployment, and resource management.
Mentor engineers through design reviews, code reviews, and best-practice guidance.
Own operational excellence including availability, reliability, and incident response.
