Job summary

The Cigna Group is seeking a Staff Pharmacist for a remote position requiring licensure in AZ, FL, IN, or OH. Training runs for 8 weeks, Monday–Friday, 8:30 am–5:00 pm EST, with after training a M-F 8:30 am–5:00 pm EST shift plus one evening shift 12:30 pm–9:00 pm EST.

The Staff Pharmacist will verify prescriptions, contact prescribers and patients, manage orders, advise on drug interactions, and may train less experienced pharmacists. A comprehensive benefits package is offered.

• Current pharmacist license in good standing in state of residence.
• Advanced problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other departments to resolve issues.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to read and interpret prescriptions.
• Strong focus on customer service, quality and accuracy.
• Ability to manage timelines and meet tight client deadlines.
• Ability to adapt in a changing environment.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule for peak volume times.

Responsibilities

• Consult with patients regarding the use of medications and potential drug interactions.
• Contact physicians for new and/or transfer authorization.
• Collaborate with physicians to convert prescriptions to generic or preferred drugs whenever possible.
• Interpret physicians' or prescribers' prescriptions.
• Contact doctors and/or patients to verify information on prescriptions such as drug strength, prescription sig., and drug name in order to expedite processing of orders.
• Verify prescription information entered in the system by data entry or order entry.
• Back up other pharmacists as needed, perform additional duties as assigned by management, or train less experienced pharmacists.
