Job summary

The Cigna Group is seeking a remote, part-time staff pharmacist to provide telepharmacy services across multiple hospital clients. You will perform remote order entry and verification, counsel patients and staff, and support various hospital information systems from home. Strong clinical knowledge and multi-state licensure are essential.

This role offers evenings, overnight, and weekend shifts with a pathway to an annual bonus plan and comprehensive benefits starting day one.

Qualifications

B.S. in Pharmacy required; PharmD preferred.
Active pharmacist license in at least 2 states (PA, OH, MA, DE, RI, CT, ME).
2+ years inpatient hospital experience preferred.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrated customer service skills.
Knowledge of formulary management and P&T procedures.
Familiarity with client/server applications.
Proficiency in MS Office, Google Drive, internet, and email.
Overnight inpatient hospital experience is strongly preferred.
Hospital residency is preferred but not required; board certification preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Perform remote order entry, order verification, drug verification, and patient/staff counseling.
Support multiple clients and operate within various pharmacy information systems (PIS).
Provide proactive clinical pharmacy services and adhere to client- and Cigna policies.
Deliver drug information and therapeutic recommendations, including dosing adjustments, interactions, compatibilities, and infusion guidance.
Maintain knowledge of IV fluids, TPN, narcotic/cardiac drips, IV antibiotics, chemotherapy, and more.
Counsel patients, nurses, and medical staff on safe medication use.
Investigate and resolve medication variances within 48 hours.
Learn and work in multiple hospital pharmacy systems.
Obtain and maintain multiple state pharmacist licenses.
Document orders, interventions, and recommendations in system by end of shift.
Ensure compliance with all applicable pharmacy laws, regulations, and internal policies.
Perform basic troubleshooting during system/connectivity issues.
Work effectively with VPNs, PIS platforms, automation systems, and common software (MS Office, Snagit, etc.).
Participate in ongoing training, including clinical updates, PIS enhancements, and policy changes.
Maintain all required access credentials, licenses, and reciprocity.
Achieve and maintain company productivity metrics.
