Job summary

The Cigna Health and Life Insurance Company is seeking a Staff Pharmacist for a remote role. Candidates must be licensed in AZ, IN, FL, PA or OH and reside within an hour of a local site.

The start date is 11/16/2026 with a 6-week training period, weekdays 9:00 am–5:30 pm ET. Core duties include interpreting prescriptions, contacting prescribers, expediting orders, advising patients on medications and interactions, and supervising pharmacy technicians.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy; valid pharmacist license in good standing.
• PharmD degree preferred.
• Strong problem-solving and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Consult with patients about medications and interactions.
• Contact physicians for new or transfer authorization.
• Collaborate with physicians to convert prescriptions to generic or preferred drugs.
• Interpret prescriptions accurately.
• Verify information on prescriptions to expedite processing.
• Provide oversight to pharmacy technicians and back up other pharmacists.
