Airbnb is seeking a Staff Software Engineer for Payments Compliance. This role is remote in the US and focuses on building and operating a scalable, auditable payments compliance platform across global markets.

You will drive architectural decisions, mentor engineers, and collaborate with product, policy, design and operations to deliver compliant, high-quality payments experiences for guests and hosts.

Qualifications

• 9+ years in a fast-paced tech environment.
• BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Excellent communication and cross-team collaboration inside the organization.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and refinement of systems powering compliance.
• Design and build service-oriented, auditable compliance systems.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, Policy, Operations across a globally distributed team.
• Mentor engineers and drive engineering process improvements.
• Set technical direction across compliance platform areas.
