Job summary

Samsara, the Connected OperationsCloud leader, seeks a Staff Machine Learning Engineer to build end-to-end AI on edge devices and work with ML engineers and firmware teams to ship core features.

You will handle petabyte-scale data from sensors, cameras, and telemetry while collaborating across units to prototype new AI experiences and optimize model performance. Remote US-ready, with up to 5% travel.

Qualifications

• 8+ years experience as a Machine Learning Engineer.
• Profound experience optimizing ML models for Edge compute constraints.
• Coding in python or similar; coding in C++ or Rust.
• Strong ability to translate customer requirements into crisp problems.
• Experience shipping production code at large scale.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and implementation of AI product initiatives on Edge devices.
• Develop tactical AI solutions and longer term research.
• Work with large-scale data including text, diagnostics, sensor, and video.
• Collaborate across teams to prototype new AI experiences and optimize models.
• Stay connected to industry research and adopt suitable technology.
• Champion Samsara's principles and scale the engineering culture.
