Job summary

GE Aerospace seeks a Staff Data Engineer to build the data fabric backbone for defense programs, enabling automated metadata ingestion, API/connector integrations, and policy-driven enforcement across hybrid cloud, on-premises, and edge environments.

You will own pipelines, enforce governance rules, and work with a lean team to deliver secure data products with reliability, documentation, and timely onboarding.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent with 4+ years of professional experience; or Associates with 7+ years; or High School Diploma with 9+ years of professional experience.
• Minimum 3 years of professional experience in Data Pipeline Engineering & Systems Integration or IT.
• Military experience is equivalent to professional experience.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain automated metadata ingestion pipelines across distributed source systems.
• Develop API and connector integrations for new data sources and data-product delivery.
• Plan, schedule, and execute integration work for data products moving through the lifecycle.
• Support schema-translation pipeline builds with the Sr Staff Data Engineer.
• Wire the policy enforcement engine and implement policy-as-code including access control.
