Job summary

GE Aerospace is seeking a Staff Data Engineer to build and operate the Data Fabric for Defense & Systems. You will own automated metadata ingestion, API/connector integrations, and the policy enforcement engine, enabling provable access controls across hybrid cloud, on-premises, and edge environments.

You’ll work across pipelines, security, and reliability, collaborating with governance and architecture teams to meet strict defense requirements and lifecycle SLAs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher with minimum professional experience; alternative combinations allowed per listing.
• Minimum 3 years in Data Pipeline Engineering & Systems Integration or IT.
• Military experience counts as professional experience.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain automated metadata ingestion pipelines across distributed source systems.
• Develop API and connector integrations for new data sources and data-product delivery.
• Plan, schedule, and execute integration work for data products through lifecycle.
• Support schema-translation pipeline builds with Sr Staff Data Engineer.
• Wire policy enforcement engine and implement policy-as-code & ABAC.
