Job summary

GE Aerospace is hiring a Staff Data Engineer to build the Defense & Systems Data Fabric backbone, including automated metadata ingestion, API/connectors, and policy enforcement to turn governance rules into enforced behavior.

You’ll operate across hybrid cloud, on-premises, and customer sites in a defense context, collaborating with senior architects to ensure provable access control, standards adherence, and reliable data flows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher with 4+ years of professional experience in data engineering, pipelines, or IT.
• Minimum 3 years in Data Pipeline Engineering & Systems Integration or IT.
• Military experience is equivalent to professional experience.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain automated metadata ingestion pipelines across distributed source systems.
• Develop API and connector integrations for new data sources and data-product delivery.
• Plan, schedule, and execute integration work for data products through lifecycle.
• Support schema-translation pipeline builds with Sr Staff Data Engineer.
• Wire the policy enforcement engine and implement policy-as-code and ABAC.
