Job summary

Eliassen Group is seeking a Staff Cloud Network Engineer for remote work in the United States. The role focuses on designing and implementing secure, resilient cloud and hybrid networks across AWS and Azure, including hub-and-spoke patterns, centralized inspection, and firewall deployments.

You will automate using Terraform and CI/CD, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve observability and compliance.

Qualifications

• 8+ years designing, implementing, and supporting complex production network environments with cloud networking
• Advanced hands-on experience with AWS and Azure networking
• Experience with multi-region, multi-account, or multi-subscription architectures and resilient hybrid connectivity
• Hands-on deployment and management of Palo Alto firewalls in cloud
• Experience with Terraform and network automation
• Experience with Git-based workflows, peer review, and CI/CD
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills
• Preferred: AWS/Azure government deployments and reusable Terraform modules

Responsibilities

• Lead design and evolution of secure, highly available cloud networks across AWS and Azure
• Architect multi-region connectivity using Transit Gateway, Cloud WAN, Direct Connect, and ExpressRoute
• Develop standardized designs for routing, segmentation, and hybrid connectivity
• Deploy Palo Alto Cloud NGFW/VM-Series with high availability
• Automate infrastructure using Terraform and Python/Ansible
• Establish Git-based workflows and CI/CD for network changes
• Mentor engineers on cloud networking and IaC
• Coordinate with vendors and participate in on-call rotations
• Lead lifecycle management for cloud connectivity and platform upgrades
• Identify manual processes and replace with automated solutions
