Job summary

Liberty Mutual is seeking an experienced Attorney to join our legal team, handling moderately complex civil litigation matters involving claims for monetary damages or personal/property losses of moderate value.

The role is primarily remote in Washington state with required appearances. You will develop and execute sophisticated legal strategies, mentor junior attorneys, and work closely with Claims Representatives while upholding ethical standards.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor or equivalent from an accredited law school.
• Bar admission in Washington in good standing.
• Minimum 5 years of trial attorney experience, preferably within insurance law.
• Strong research, writing, negotiation, and analytical skills.
• Experience with e-discovery tools and remote collaboration

Responsibilities

• Independently manage all phases of litigation involving claims of moderate to heavy value (up to approximately $50,000 exposure).
• Lead settlement negotiations and participate in hearings, trials, and mediations to achieve optimal case outcomes.
• Mentor junior attorneys and legal staff, offering guidance and direction to elevate team performance.
• Develop, implement, and continuously refine advanced legal strategies for discovery, investigation, and trial preparation.
• Ensure all legal documents are accurate and compliant with MRPC and licensing requirements.
