Job summary

The Immigrant Legal Resource Center (ILRC) is hiring a full-time Staff Attorney to work remotely from the San Joaquin Valley of California. The role involves trainings, legal workshops, and outreach to empower immigrant communities and legal practitioners.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in immigration practice, strong Spanish communication, and a track record in removal defense and advocacy. Travel throughout California and the U.S. is expected as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience representing clients in general immigration law including before USCIS, EOIR, and the BIA.
• Broad knowledge of immigration law including grounds of inadmissibility and deportability.
• Strong foundation in removal defense, federal court litigation, and enforcement responses.

Responsibilities

• Conduct in-person and/or webinar trainings on immigration law for attorneys and accredited representatives.
• Provide training to community members in English and Spanish on topics including Know Your Rights and Public Charge.
• Provide legal review and advice at workshops on various topics.
• Participate in regional collaboratives and task forces to represent the ILRC and provide information on immigrant rights, law, and policy updates.
• Travel for trainings, meetings, and events throughout the San Joaquin Valley and beyond.
• Contribute to ILRC legal projects including writing and editing legal manuals and advisories.
