Arbor Research Collaborative for Health is hiring a Staff Accountant to support GAAP-based general ledger work, month-end close, financial reporting, and accounts payable in a government contracting environment.

The role emphasizes ASC 606 revenue recognition, project accounting, labor cost distribution, and compliance with FAR requirements, with remote work and location flexibility within the United States.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Three or more years of general ledger or staff accounting experience, including government contractor or federally funded organization experience.
• Hands-on experience with Unanet GL processing and month-end utilities.
• Experience with Unanet modules (timekeeping, expense, project, or financial).
• Knowledge of FAR Part 31, DCAA audit requirements, and indirect rate structures.
• Strong GAAP understanding and account reconciliation practice.
• Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables and lookups.

Responsabilités

• Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals and depreciation, per GAAP.
• Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations (cash, AR, AP, accruals, fixed assets).
• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close within deadlines.
• Produce schedules and analyses (budget-to-actual, variance reports).
• Maintain chart of accounts in coordination with Accounting Manager.
• Support labor cost distribution, timekeeping, and payroll reconciliation.
• Assist with project setup, ASC 606 revenue recognition, and billing.
• Respond to inquiries from DCAA, DCMA, and external auditors.
