Job summary

Arbor Research Collaborative for Health is seeking a Staff Accountant to support general ledger, month-end close, financial reporting, and accounts payable in a government contracting environment. You will handle journal entries, reconciliations, project accounting, ASC 606 revenue recognition, and contract billing while ensuring strong financial controls and timely reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• 3+ years general ledger or staff accounting experience, with government contractor exposure.
• Hands-on experience with Unanet, including GL processing and month-end utilities.
• Working knowledge of FAR Part 31, DCAA audit requirements, and indirect rate structures.
• Strong GAAP knowledge and account reconciliation practices.
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, data reconciliation).

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals and reclassifications, per GAAP.
• Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations for key accounts.
• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
• Prepare schedules and analyses, including budget-to-actual and variance reports.
• Maintain chart of accounts and organizational structure.
• Support labor cost distribution, timekeeping, and payroll integration with GL.
• Assist with project setup and ASC 606 revenue recognition and contract billing.
• Respond to DCAA/DCMA requests and external audits as needed.
• Develop standard and ad hoc reports for management and compliance needs.
• Review and process vendor/subcontractor invoices in Unanet and perform three-way matching.
• Reconcile AP subledger to GL and manage accruals and aging.
• Prepare annual Form 1099 filings and vendor inquiries.
