Job summary

Arbor Research Collaborative for Health is seeking a Staff Accountant to support general ledger, month-end close, financial reporting, and accounts payable in a federally funded environment. The role includes journal entries, reconciliations, and project accounting, collaborating with the Accounting Manager to maintain strong financial controls.

This remote position requires a bachelor’s in accounting, 3+ years GL experience, hands-on Unanet use, and knowledge of FAR 31 and ASC 606.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field required.
• Three+ years general ledger or staff accounting experience, including gov contracting context.
• Hands-on Unanet experience (GL processing, timekeeping, project modules).
• FAR Part 31, DCAA knowledge, and indirect rate structures preferred.
• Strong GAAP and reconciliations skills; Excel proficiency required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries and reconciliations per GAAP.
• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
• Manage accounts payable, vendor invoices, and 1099 filings.
• Assist with project setup, ASC 606 revenue recognition, and billing.
• Respond to audits and maintain internal control documentation.
• Develop standard and ad-hoc financial reports for management.
