Job summary

Commonstake Partners seeks a Staff Accountant to maintain the firm’s books and assist advisers by delivering accurate financial figures for client succession or sale options. The role reports to the managing partner and is a full-time, remote position.

Responsibilities include monthly close with reconciliations, AP processing, client invoicing, year-end schedules for the CPA, and adjusting statements for owner pay and related-party items. Collaboration with owners and staff is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting.
• General ledger experience, including internships.
• QuickBooks Online or Xero.
• Excel: pivot tables, lookups.

Responsibilities

• Performs the monthly close including bank reconciliations and accruals.
• Processes accounts payable.
• Prepares client invoices against signed engagement letters.
• Prepares year-end schedules for the outside CPA firm.
• Adjusts client financial statements for owner pay, one-time items and related-party expenses.
• Summarizes income and distributions by owner for each succession or transfer option.
• Checks financial information before it is placed in a data room.
• Other duties as assigned.
