Job summary

Ameresco is seeking a Site Safety and Health Officer / Quality Control Manager to lead safety programs for a Veterans Affairs project in Yuma, AZ. The role combines SSHO duties with quality control oversight on a two-year project, requiring extensive safety credentials and strong leadership in safety culture.

The ideal candidate will manage safety plans, audits, trainings, incident investigations, and ensure EM385-1.1 compliance while coordinating with project teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years construction safety experience on similar projects.
• Average of 24 hours of formal safety training each year for the past 5 years.
• EM385-1-1 40-Hr. Safety Certification.
• OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety Certification.
• First Aid & CPR Certification.
• NFPA 70E certification for flash training.

Responsibilities

• Prepare Site-Specific Safety Plans and Activity Hazard Analyses for projects.
• Ensure compliance with EM 385-1.1 and Ameresco standards.
• Conduct safety audits and trainings for project personnel.
• Lead incident/accident investigations and follow-up.
• Maintain safety certifications and conduct quarterly safety meetings.
• Travel as required and support a positive safety culture.
