Job summary

Piper Companies is seeking an SRE- Platform Engineer to support a Kubernetes-based platform in regulated environments. The role is remote within the United States and focuses on reliability, scalability, and compliance across the platform.

You will collaborate with senior engineers and security teams, build and maintain Kubernetes clusters across on‑prem and AWS, and contribute to CI/CD, IaC, observability, and incident response to ensure resilient infrastructure and smooth operations.

Qualifications

• 4-6 years of SRE/DevOps/platform engineering experience.
• Proficient with Kubernetes in production, on‑prem and AWS.
• Strong Linux administration and enterprise system maintenance.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation) and CI/CD practices.
• Scripting in Python/Go or similar languages; Ruby experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of FedRAMP High or DoD IL5 and regulated environments preferred.

Responsibilities

• Build, maintain, and support Kubernetes clusters across on‑prem and AWS.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize platform performance with observability and on‑call rotations.
• Develop and maintain IaC to automate infrastructure and reduce manual work.
• Collaborate with security and application teams to meet compliance and reliability goals.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and operational tooling.
